How has food industry developed in terms of art, design and technology

– Designing for a food business – the ethics 

The importance of visual identities and concepts for restaurant, food and beverages
Need to know what I want to focus on as there are a few aspects in which I would like to cover, and i am not sure of the title as of yet..

1. Food photography / Instagram 

(We love taking visually appealing food photos. How we love to take photos of the food we have before we eat it. Why is this? Psychological? Is this good?)

2. Rising food blogs / food magazines 

(Bitter magazine, Kinfolk, Lucky Peach)

3. Architectural restaurant design / interior design 

(How has restaurant interior / design developed? Why? Does this influence the way we eat?”

4. Food documentaries 

(We are more intuitive about food culture – street food, food festivals etc)

5. Product and packaging design 

6. Importance of branding in a business

(Does this effect what the customer will buy? What is the importance of good branding?)

7. Social media and the benefits for a food business

(Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)

Alongside the dissertation part, for my project I would plan and design a restaurant.

– Menu (including food photography)

– Social media platforms

– Packaging

– Blog (including food photography)

– Business side (price to make, price to sell)
